On 26 November 2024, at Mission Arena 3, CrossGov hosted an insightful workshop titled: “Reconciling Offshore Wind and Biodiversity Targets: Are We on Track to Realize the European Green Deal?”
Our experts came together to tackle one of the most pressing challenges of our time: How can we balance the ambitious EU Green Deal targets for biodiversity with the rapid expansion of Offshore Renewable Energy? Offshore wind energy is a cornerstone of the European Union’s Clean Energy strategy and a driving force toward achieving the European Green Deal’s climate goals. However, as we expand offshore energy capacity, we must also consider the ecosystems and species that share our oceans.
The engaging discussions left us more than inspired with the valuable lessons it provided for everyone from policymakers to sector representatives. To share that inspiration, we have come up with our reflections from the Mission Arena!
